Faith. Resources. Style.

As a child and family trauma therapist, there are must haves for my office--and I want you to have them too!
Books! Always have books. Fun books, educational books, resourceful books... Books for adults, kids, teens, and colleagues... Having a stocked book shelf in your office is the greatest resource, but if I were just starting these are my first picks:
The Body Keeps Score
The Whole Brain Child
The Little Unicorn Series, by Aurélie Chien Chow Chine
I am Human
Don't Let you Emotions Run Your Life Workbook (DBT)
Next you need to have some things for your client/s to hold, distract themselves with or use as a grounding tool. No matter what age person walks into my office, I absolutely recommend:
Koosh Balls
Door Hanger Basketball Hoop
Letter Magnets
Squish Balls
Deck of Cards
Dry Erase Board and Colored Markers
Blank Paper and Drawing Materials
Water Color Paints
Clay or Kinetic Sand
And, that's it! That's all I need. Get to know yourself and your clients and you'll add to your collection but if you're brand new to your own space and you didn't know where to start, I hope you find some direction with these.
Best,
Olivia
